Since I was young I had an appreciation for art, doodling and color coordination. Around the 4th grade I became excited about computers after playing with the new translucent iMacs we had just received at school. In middle school, I took an elective class where we played around with what I now know to be Photoshop. We made mockup posters, flyers and similar materials. I didn't know it at the time, but this was my intro to Graphic Design.
I took more classes when I noticed they were being offered in college and it reignited my interest in design. When I realized this could be a profession, I took it more seriously and sought out more knowledge on my own. I knew this was the path for me because I was excited to learn more even outside of school. Sometime during college I miraculously landed my first job retouching images. The pay was pitiful, but I didn't mind since I had no real professional expereience at that point. Fast forward a few years and now I have ten years professional experience to account for it. I feel fortunate to have fun at work and I enjoy every moment of the process from researching, brainstorming ideas & iterating over and over again until the design is as strong as possible.
